The contractor has notified the park that the restoration project will not be completed by early summer 2019. As a result, the temporary closure of all areas beyond (e.g., west of) the Lighthouse Visitors' Parking Lot will be extended until October 1, 2019.
Determination of Temporary Closure - extended from Friday, June 21, 2019, until Tuesday, October 1, 2019 (coming soon)

Most buildings (aside from the historic lighthouse) are now reroofed and freshly painted. Some of the concrete walkways have been poured. There is a new accessible (e.g., ADA-compliant) path from a relocated accessible parking area to the visitor center and observation deck. The visitor center is getting new flooring and cabinetry. It's quite a transformation! Check out our Lighthouse Restoration Project Photo Gallery to see some of the work that has been completed.
Once the restoration project has been completed, visitors will be permitted to walk along the newly paved pathway from the visitors' parking lot to the observation deck and down to the lighthouse, where they will be able to enter the newly restored lighthouse and learn about the lighthouse's history through new exhibits.
