Junior Ranger Day
Come and join us for a special Junior Ranger Day celebration. The program takes place Saturday April 25 from 10 am until 3 pm. A variety of colonial hands-on demonstrations will be offered throughout the day, such as colonial candlemaking, cartridge rolling and making corn husk dolls. We will also have demonstrators sharing about naval stores, blacksmithing, toys and games, and more!
We will also be offering a special guided tour of the Tar Heel Trail focused on the production of tar, pitch and turpentine. Join Moores Creek Intern John Bloh for these tours at 10:30 am, 12:30 pm and 2:30 pm. This 30–45-minute tour will focus on North Carolina's role in the naval stores industry. The tour will meet at the intersection of the Tar Heel and History Trails. Just look for the guided tour sign!
Come and earn your badge for the Moores Creek Junior Ranger booklet, as well as the Women of the American Revolution Junior Ranger patch. We will also be debuting a new joint Junior Ranger booklet with Fort Sumter and Fort Moultrie National Historical Park, where you can earn a special patch. If you complete all three booklets, you can earn your Moores Creek Master Junior Ranger badge!
