The West End Fishing Area is the designated area for fishing in the North Channel of the Savannah River. Fishing is only allowed near the parking area.
Open during park hours, 9am-5pm.
Directions:
Follow Fort Pulaski Rd. past the bridge, turn left at the Y-intersection and take the next right. The road leads to a gravel parking area.

Requirements
- A valid Georgia fishing license.
- Parking in designated areas.
- Adherence to Georgia DNR guidelines and limits.
Prohibited Actions
- Staying in the park past 5pm. Fishing is allowed from the Cockspur Island Bridge outside of park hours.
- Parking on grass.
- Swimming.
- Littering. All trash must be removed and taken with you. There are trash cans available at the Visitor Center.
- Leaving crab traps unattended.
- Collecting Fiddler or Horseshoe Crabs.
- Commercial fishing.

Safety
- Beware of slippery rocks and sharp oyster shells when fishing riverbanks.
- Wear sunscreen. There is little to no shade in fishing areas.
- Use insect repellent and wear protective clothing.
- First Aid is available at the Visitor Center.
- The North Channel is an active shipping lane and not safe for wading, swimming, or launching water craft.
