Sunset Beach State Recreation Site is located southwest of Astoria, Oregon, and provides visitors with direct access to the Pacific Ocean. On a clear day visitors can enjoy expansive views north towards Cape Disappointment State Park, and south towards Ecola State Park.
The recreation site is 120-acres, and marks the west trailhead of the historic Fort-to-Sea Trail. This trail is 6.5 miles long one-way, and recreates the experience of Lewis and Clark and the Corps of Discovery as they traveled between Fort Clatsop and the Pacific Ocean during the winter of 1805-6.
For additional information please go to Sunset Beach State Recreation Site's website.
