The Spring Street Landing is the premiere waterfront space in the town of Friday Harbor. Visitorscan watch the numerous ships that enter the port of Friday Harbor and observe sea life up close. One of the floating structures in this facility is the Spring Street Landing aquarium, a small, free aquarium featuring a 400 gallon saltwater tank whose inhabitants change throughout the year. Amongst its briny inhabitants are tube worms, scallops, sea stars, sea urchans, sea cucumbers, and anemones. A mosaic built by local children pays tribute to our island's maritime heritage and a live video allows visitors to look into the eel grass that lives just below the landing's wooden walkways. The nearby Friday Harbor Marina offers 100 slips for overnight visitors and numerous services useful for tourists, including free wi-fi, restrooms, and coin operated showers.
