The men and women of Roxbury Farm have cared for these fields since 2009, following agricultural practices similar to those implemented by President Van Buren and his farm manager. This field appears very different from year to year as crops are rotated to maintain soil quality. In April 2014 the field was planted with melons and strawberries.

Following the growing season, a cover crop that returns nutrients to the soil was planted in the field. After lying fallow for a year, the field will once again be ready for fruits and vegetables.
