The Ravalli County Museum is uniquely situated in the Bitterroot Valley at a confluence of three historic and nationally recognized trails: The Ice Age Floods National Geologic Trail, the Nee-Me-Poo National Historic Trail and the Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail.

Located in Hamilton, Montana, the museum houses historical collections on a wide range of subjects, including local families and businesses, agriculture, military service, Native American heritage, recreational activities, and the diverse communities that have called the Bitterroot Valley home. The Museum is a repository for the Bitter Root Valley’s artifacts, collections, archives and oral histories.

The Museum resides in the Ravalli County Courthouse, designed by A.J. Gibson and built in 1900. It is significant symbolically and historically as it was the hub of civic and community activities and has remained so for over 125 years.
