Neches River - Evadale Boat Ramp
Canoe/Kayak/Small Boat Launch, Parking - Auto, Parking - Boat Trailer, Pets Allowed
As with many historical communities along waterways, Evadale began as a ferry crossing across the Neches River.
It was known as Richardson’s Bluff in the 1830s, then Ford’s Bluff after it was purchased by the Ford brothers in 1849. It served as a collection point for logs, which were floated down the Neches River to sawmills in Beaumont. Timberman John Henry Kirby later purchased the land and named it after Miss Eva Dale, a teacher at Southeast Texas Male and Female College in Jasper. Today the boat ramp is used primarily by anglers.
