Moose Ponds

Grand Teton National Park

A moose stands in Moose Ponds with Teewinot mountain up high behind it.
As it's name suggests, moose like to hang out at Moose Ponds.

From Jenny Lake, you can veer off the loop trail to Moose Ponds. This is a two-mile round-trip hike that takes you out to and around the ponds.

It has earned its namesake numerous times, with moose frequently seen in the water. The shallow water, full of vegetation, is the perfect riparian habit for the large ungulate.

While it is an amazing experience to witness moose in the wild, respect their space and stay 25 yards away.
