Kīlauea Overlook provides the most dramatic views of Kaluapele (Kīlauea caldera) and Halemaʻumaʻu crater, which underwent a massive collapse during the history-making eruption of 2018.

From here, visitors can hike along Crater Rim Trail, which traverses the summit caldera of Kīlauea.
