This scenic picnic area lies in a quiet neighborhood along the bank of Pine Island Bayou. It offers beautiful views of the bayou and is a popular spot for anglers. An unmaintained trail follows the bank of the bayou for 1/3 mile to another picnic table where the bayou bends south.

Edgewater Day-Use Area is north of Beaumont. To get here, exit the US 69/96/287 freeway at Tram Road and go east until it ends at Sherwood Drive (after the railroad tracks). Turn left to go north on Sherwood and then turn right on Broadoak Street. Follow Broadoak until it becomes Edgewater Drive, then continue on Edgewater until you reach the day-use area.

Accessibility

The restrooms and picnic area are wheelchair-accessible. The trail along the bayou is flat and generally wide enough for a wheelchair, but the width varies. Hazards include tree roots and muddy areas if it has rained recently.
