On the afternoon of July 21 1861, the 33rd Virginia Infantry held the left end of Stonewall Jackson's line on Henry Hill. Threatened by newly arriving artillery to their front, the regiment charged forward, capturing two howitzers of Captain Charles Griffin's Union artillery battery.
