Volunteering is a great way to support Pinnacles National Park and spend time in one of the nation's most breathtaking national parks. Volunteer opportunities include habitat restoration projects, condor monitoring, nature center assistant, trail work, artist residencies, vegetation management, and more. Long Term Volunteering Trail work, plant habitat restoration, are recurring projects the park offers for volunteers to participate in! We offer scheduled service learning events to groups such as scout troops, business teams, wedding parties, school classes. We also have monthly recurring "drop-in" service events for interested individuals, no group required! Does your business or organization want to take part in a team-building restoration project? If so, we have many opportunities that can accommodate large groups. Please e-mail us for more information!
Our drop-in schedule is listed below. If you are an individual or group of less than 10 registration is not required but highly encouraged. Registration is required if you plan on bringing a school class, a Scout Troop, other group of 10 or more people OR are interested in a campsite with one week notice minimum. Participating in a scheduled volunteer service projects also grants volunteers the option of an overnight campsite. Pre-register here: LINK Once you preregister you will receive a follow-up email with more detailed project information. Pre-registering is not require but highly encouraged. All project information can be found on our social media page one week prior to event date. This years projects: Invasives Pulling Pulling invasives consist of pulling invasive species from our campground area. This is moderate work. This project involves physical labor including hiking, lifting, and repeated bending. Volunteers must be able to safely lift 5 pounds repeatedly and must be able to safely hike up to 3 miles. All training and work equipment will be provided. Trail maintenance Trail maintenance is a moderate to strenuous activity. Trail maintenance is the process of keeping the trail corridor clear in the clearing limits from vegetation with the use of hand tools. |
