The graves of over 6,200 soldiers will be illuminated with tea light candles to honor troops who died fighting for their country and to recognize our military men and women on Veterans Day. In recognition of the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I, park staff and volunteers will tell the stories of some of the World War I soldiers buried at Poplar Grove.
** Due to space limitations, there will be no parking available at Poplar Grove National Cemetery. All park staff, volunteers and visitors are required to park at Richard Bland College (11301 Johnson Road, South Prince George, Virginia) where a free shuttle will provide transportation to and from the cemetery. The first shuttle will depart from Richard Bland College at 4:00 pm and will run continuously until the last shuttle departs Poplar Grove at 8:15 pm.
