PETERSBURG, Va — The 2024 Black History Month theme is “African Americans and the Arts”. African American influence has been paramount in arts and forms of cultural expression.Join a Park Ranger from Petersburg National Battlefield for a special Black History Month program at Petersburg Public Library, on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at 6:00 pm. Learn how David and Elizabeth Bowser used their artistic skills as a part of their activism. Discover how their art supported the United States Colored Troops. Explore how mastery of skills helped improve African American lives and their communities.
