Visiting the USS Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor National Memorial

A visit to the USS Arizona Memorial is a highlight for many travelers to Oahu and Pearl Harbor National Memorial. Since 1980, the National Park Service has managed this iconic site, welcoming between 4,000 to 8,000 visitors daily who come to pay their respects. To ensure fair, equal, and equitable access, the NPS has expanded its online reservation system via Recreation.gov, and same-day, in-person ticket distribution has been discontinued.

About the USS Arizona Memorial Program

The USS Arizona Memorial program is a time-sensitive experience, and the departure time listed on your ticket is when your boat leaves the dock. Be sure to arrive promptly, as late arrivals will be directed to a standby line where wait times can vary.

Program Details:

  • Runs daily, every 15 minutes from 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
  • Each boat has a capacity of 145 people (per US Navy and Coast Guard regulations).
  • The program includes a safety orientation, boat ride, time on the memorial, and return to the Pearl Harbor National Memorial.
  • Note: The 23-minute park film is not part of the program but can be viewed separately.
  • Important: Restrooms are not available on the boats or the USS Arizona Memorial, so please use the facilities before your scheduled program.

Reservation Details:

  • Reservations are released daily at 3 p.m. HST in two windows: 24 hours and 8 weeks in advance.
  • Tickets are non-transferable and cannot be resold.
  • A $1 non-refundable fee per ticket is charged by Recreation.gov.

Steps to Reserve:

  1. Log in or create a Recreation.gov account.
  2. Select your preferred date and time.
  3. Reserve up to 10 tickets per day (including infants and small children).
  4. Arrive at least 1 hour before your scheduled program time to check in at the Ticket Validation Desk at the Pearl Harbor Theater. Late arrivals may forfeit their reservation to those in the standby line.
