Cooperating Association The Petrified Forest Museum Association is the park's cooperating association, providing funding, staff, and supplies. This non-profit organization also manages two bookstores in the park, located in the Painted Desert Visitor Center and Rainbow Forest Museum. Petrified Forest Field Institute Petrified Forest Field Institute (PFFI) is a program of our cooperating association, Petrified Forest Museum Association (PFMA). PFFI is proud to offer guided hiking tours lead by world class guides and field experts that explore a variety of fun and compelling subjects.
