    Developing an Outdoor School in Anchorage

    The Anchorage Outdoor School began in 2018, when the Anchorage School District and their nonprofit partners requested assistance from the National Park Service – Rivers, Trails and Conservation Assistance program (NPS-RTCA) to develop a new, partnership-driven outdoor education program.

    Connecting Maine’s Youth to the Outdoors

    The National Park Service – Rivers, Trails and Conservation Assistance program (NPS-RTCA) helped establish Teens to Trails, a new nonprofit that seeks to connect teens with Maine’s spectacular wild places through adventure activities and play, establishing outing clubs at high schools and partnering with universities for outdoor programming.

    Capturing Chinatown: Boston Teens Bring History to the Screen

    In Boston’s Chinatown, a digital storytelling and public history field program brought 19 teens together to create short films on the neighborhood’s unique stories. The films, produced with the help of the National Park Service, will support the development of an urban and educational trail in the community.
