NASF is a nonprofit organization that represents the directors of the state forestry agencies from all 50 states, eight US territories (American Samoa, the Federated States of Micronesia, Guam, the Northern Marianas Islands, Palau, Puerto Rico, Republic of the Marshall Islands, and the US Virgin Islands), and the District of Columbia. A representative of NASF is stationed at NIFC in Boise, Idaho.

The US Fire Administration (USFA) is an entity of the Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency. The mission of the USFA is to provide national leadership to foster a solid foundation for fire and emergency services stakeholders in prevention, preparedness, and response.
US Fish and Wildlife Service
The US Fish and Wildlife Service's Fire Management Branch falls within the Division of Refuges, Washington Office. The branch is located at the National Interagency Fire Center in Boise, Idaho and is responsible for overall staff direction for FWS’s fire program, which includes fuels management, wildfire management, and wildfire prevention. This involves technical expertise in firefighting and prescribed burning, an understanding of fire ecology, and interaction with the public.

The Fire and Aviation Management part of the USDA Forest Service is a diverse group of people working to advance technologies in fire management and suppression, maintain and improve the extremely efficient mobilization and tracking systems in place, and reach out in support for all fire partners.
