The Land Resources Division (Division) provides support and services to the Land Resources Program across the National Park Service (NPS). The Division creates and defines program policies, manages the national budget program for land acquisition, gives guidance on land acquisition procedures, and provides technical services for the program. The Division supports Land Resources Program Centers located in National Park Service Regional Offices and other key field offices.
The Division is responsible for setting policy, program advocacy and guidance, liaison and communication, process oversight, administering budget requests, and overall fiscal management of the Land Resources Program.
The Division also provides support and services regarding technical aspects of the program. This includes guiding the cartographic function for the program, maintaining national boundary datasets, and managing acreage data and statistics. Additionally, the Division is responsible for administering the permitting process for Right-of-Way uses within units of the National Park System.
