What We Do

The Region 1 Office supports over 100 parks and program areas from Maine to Virginia under the leadership of the regional director. The regional director manages park superintendents as well as a staff of associate directors. Each directorate supports the region's parks in the fulfillment of the National Park Service's mission.

Doing Business with Us
Numerous recreational activities and amenities are managed by private businesses through contracts with Region 1. The region often provides opportunities for leasing of historic buildings, special use permits, and other concessions opportunities.
