Projects must benefit an NPS unit in the Intermountain Region along the U.S. – Mexico border as well as a protected area in Mexico by addressing cultural or natural resource issues shared by both countries.

Educational institutions, private non-profit organizations, and state, local and tribal governments are also eligible to apply as well as NPS units along the border. Foreign organizations and governments outside the United States and its territories are not eligible to apply.

Project submision for FY 2025 funding is closed. Project submission for FY 2026 funding will be announced in October 2024. See below for imformation for last yeasrs project submission call.

Click here to access the FY 2025 Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) from the Southwest Border Resource Protection Program (SWBRPP) at the National Park Service. We hope that there will be roughly $275,000 available to allocate towards projects. Each project will be capped at $55,000 and there is no longer a limit to number of projects each organization can submit.
