    It’s officially spring at Grand Teton National Park! The 14-mile section of the Teton Park Road between Taggart Lake Trailhead and Signal Mountain Lodge is cleared of snow and now open to walking, running, biking and skating.

    Laboratory tests conducted by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) have confirmed that the fungus Pseudogymnoascus destructans (Pd) has been positively detected in bats found in the Holzwarth Historic Site area located on the west side of Rocky Mountain National Park.

    Grand Canyon National Park will implement a fee increase for frontcountry standard campsites at Desert View, North Rim, and Mather Campgrounds starting May 1, 2025. Rates for standard campsites will increase to $30 per night. Group sites will remain $55 per night.

    Bent’s Old Fort National Historic Site announces a special program hosted at Boggsville Historic Site from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, on Saturday, April 5th, 2025. This program will focus on historic forms of entertainment enjoyed and influenced by the different cultures of the Southwestern Borderlands. Gambling and competitions were often among the first interactions between different peoples, and participation was often a path to learn about each other’s cultures. They often learned each other’s games before they were able to learn their languages.

    Bandelier National Monument’s Alcove House will be temporarily closed starting on Monday, March 31, 2025. The park is beginning flood debris removal in that area, and work is expected to last up to five weeks.

    On April 9 through April 24, 2025, Glen Canyon National Recreation Area will be conducting repairs at the airstrip located in Bullfrog, Utah. Cal Black Airport at Halls Crossing will remain open during this period. The Bullfrog airstrip will re-open on April 25 for all traffic.

    Salinas Pueblo Missions will kick off its B.A.R.K. Ranger Program on March 22nd at 9:30 AM at the Quarai Site. This program educates participants on B.A.R.K. Ranger principles, such as picking up pet waste, keeping pets on a leash, respecting wildlife, and hiking safely. The program is offered throughout the year and can be accessed at four visitor centers.
