Staff of the North Cascades National Park Complex is currently hosting Chuck Kimmerle in Stehekin as an Artist-in-Residence. Kimmerle is an award-winning landscape photographer from Casper, Wyoming who is spending his five-week residency photographing the forms and textures of Lake Chelan National Recreation Area's natural and man-made landscapes.

"For me, the biggest joy in landscape photography is the discovery of unexpected treasures," says Kimmerle. His photographs have been featured in LensWork, Black & White, and Neutral Density. Kimmerle was a 2012 recipient of the Wyoming Arts Council Visual Arts Fellowship Award and was a 2011 Artist-in-Residence at Zion National Park.

On Sunday, October 7th, Kimmerle will lead a photography workshop at the Buckner Orchard, one of Stehekin's most treasured places. The workshop will begin at 10:00 a.m. and is free and open to anyone.

Kimmerle's photographs are available for viewing at his website and a transcript of an interview with him for Neutral Density is also available.

The Artist-in-Residence program at North Cascades National Park invites artists to immerse themselves in the national park and work with park visitors, community members, and staff to explore the park in unique and meaningful ways through the arts.
