North Cascades National Park Glaciers on "KCTS 9 Connects with Enrique Cerna" Friday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 10:30 a.m. The glaciers of North Cascades National Park and the scientists who study them will be the topic of the next edition of KCTS 9 Connects with Enrique Cerna which will air Friday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 10:30 a.m. KCTS 9 provided the following description of the episode, entitled "Melting Glaciers": Forget about drowning polar bears and stranded penguins, global warming is hitting the Northwest. Local glaciers are melting at an unprecedented rate – 40% in just the last 40 years, threatening wildlife, native fish, and even our own drinking water supplies. In this episode of Connects, we take you on a rare and special journey into the remote and stunning backcountry of North Cascades National Park, where local scientists are monitoring our melting glaciers.
