Be A Junior Ranger

Cover of Junior Ranger Booklet

Explore. Learn. Protect.

Children around the country recite the Junior Ranger motto and take an oath to protect their National Parks, continue to learn about their parks, and to share their knowledge about the parks with friends and family. Junior Rangers are typically between the ages of 5 to 13, although people of all ages can participate.

We are proud to offer a Junior Ranger program at Nez Perce National Historical Park's visitor center in Spalding, Idaho. There is no cost to participate. Stop by the visitor center to pick up your book, or print a copy at home before your visit. Complete a series of activities in the booklet, share your answers with a park ranger, and receive an official Junior Ranger badge!

Big Hole National Battlefield, Whitman Mission National Historical Site, and Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail also have Junior Ranger programs. There are hundeds of Junior Ranger programs at parks all over the United States and its territories. Start collecting your badges today!
