An object can tell a story. Whether its the simple contours of cornhusk bag or the rich and intricate lines of glass beads on a hide dress, these items help tell the story of the Nez Perce. Over 200 items from the museum collection were photographed and assembled into a virtual museum. These photographs provide a glimpse into the rich culture and history of the Nez Perce.

In 2021 the Nez Perce Tribe renamed a collection of artifacts compiled by Presbyterian missionary Henry Spalding in the 1830s and 40s. This collection, now known as the wetxuuwíitin' collection, is one of the most significant ethnographic collections in existence.
