Thomas Moran (1837 – 1926)

Museum records indicate that Moran was working on this painting in 1924. However, in 1951 when artist Gustave Liljestrom restored it, his treatment exposed Moran's previously unnoticed signature and thumbprint in the bottom corners. Liljestrom took that to mean that Moran had in fact, completed the painting.
