Gustave Liljestrom (1880 – 1958)
1952
Originally from Stockholm, Sweden, Liljestrom came to the United States in 1902. He settled in San Francisco, where he became art director for the Bohemian Club. In 1951, the artist was hired to restore 40 paintings of Yosemite, including Thomas Moran's painting of Bridalveil Falls. Liljestrom's own painting of Bridalveil Falls, depicted here, echoes Moran's.
