This coiled basket, decorated with three horizontal rows of large zigzags in redbud, was collected in the Yosemite Valley in 1900. The basket's conical shape was typical of Miwok cooking and serving baskets. Repair work on the base and rim indicates the basket was in use. This basket appears in several photographs of Miwok women Callipene, Mary, and Lena Brown taken around 1901.
