F. Nelson Blount (1918 – 1967) was born in Warren, Rhode Island. He made his fortune with the Blount Seafood Corporation and the Blount Marine Corporation. Blount began purchasing steam locomotives and other rail rolling stock in the early 1960s. His collection became the largest such private holding in the United States, and the foundation of Steamtown USA. Blount died in a plane crash in 1967. He is pictured here in front of the roundhouse in North Walpole, NH.
