(Western Maryland Railway instruction car)

1945 – 1950

Instruction cars were used to teach steam locomotive workers. Pictured is an instructional model of a locomotive drive mechanism with Waltschaert motion. The instructional model, Western Maryland Railway instruction car number 99, is part of the Steamtown museum collection.
