Dinner Plate

The design on this plate was inspired by a Chinese pattern of the Yung-Cheng period (1725 – 35). This pattern was popular during the last half of the 19th century, and was produced with variations by many different companies. The Pullman Company modified it for railroad use by incorporating the Pullman name into the existing design. The New York, New Haven & Hartford Railroad also used this pattern, except the railroad name is on the back and the colors are slightly different.
