Hose Blanket
c 1875-1900
This rump drape or horse blanket is typical of Columbia Plateau horse finery. It was idraped over the horse, behind the rider with long fringe hanging down on each side. This one is made from buckskin, with a red wool trade cloth background for the floral design, which is executed using glass trade beads. It was originally part of the Rydryck Collection.
