Man’s Roach
Plateau
Male dancers wear roachs on their heads. This roach is made from dyed porcupine quills and deer hair. The hairs and quills are attached to a base, often made of a small cup of hollowed-out antler that was probably used to hold feathers.
Deer (Odocoileus spp.), commerical leather, porcupine (Erethizon dorsatum), glass beads. L 33, W 9.
