Harvesting and processing cedar root is a laborious job. First, it is dug and pulled from the ground. Then the outer layer of cedar bark is peeled. The smooth surface is used for the weaving element. It is spliced into more workable pieces that are sorted and arranged, ready to be used at a later time.
