Basket, Mortar, and Pestle
Plateau
This combination of stone and basketry was an excellent system for processing food stuffs. The bottom of the basket is open and is used to contain the material being pounded on the pestle by the mortar. The rocks used to fashion the mortar and pestle were probably found locally. The basket is a three rod coil of cedar root.
