Apple Brochure To sell lots and spur investment in its new fruit growing community, the Owens Valley Improvement Company produced this promotional brochure touting the possibilities for success and wealth at the new colony of Manzanar. Extolling the fine soil, abundant water, favorable climate and proximity to markets, "Fortunes in Apples" promoted Manzanar as the next Yakima Valley, the great apple growing region in Washington.
