Carte-de-Visite

Immediately after Lincoln’s death was announced in Springfield, the renters, the Lucian Tilton family, draped the Home in black crepe.  A few days later, the city created a more elaborate display, but not before visitors had their picture taken with the Tilton’s simple decoration.
