Parian Ware Bust of William Shakespeare
c 1860

The Lincolns enjoyed reading Shakespeare’s works aloud to each other and Lincoln often quoted lines from plays to his friends. To honor that interest, Shakespeare’s bust was included in the current furnishings of the Front Parlor.
