Rocking Chair

Upholstered high back rocker, also known as the "Lincoln Rocker," with mahogany veneered frame.

Mahogany veneered frame and horsehair cover this gentleman’s rocker. It was used frequently in the Lincolns’ parlor. It appears in a drawing published in Frank Leslie’s Illustrated Newspaper in 1861.

Footstool

Footstools kept feet off the floor, and out of the drafts. They were also useful for children to perch their feet while sitting in a high rocker.
