Stereograph of a Washstand
c 1865
Stereographs of famous places and things were popular in the mid-to-late 1800s, including items associated with the Lincoln family. A washstand in the corner of what is possibly Lincoln’s bedroom was brightened by a print of a Thomas Cole painting called The Voyage of Life – Childhood.
