When elected to the presidency in 1860, Abraham Lincoln was not well-known beyond the Midwest. In order to introduce him to the rest of the country, several prints of Lincoln and his home were made. This image was originally collected by Civil War veteran and noted Lincoln collector, Osborn Oldroyd. Oldroyd served as the caretaker of Lincoln Home from 1883 to 1893.
