Charles Henry Ebert

This painting hangs in Glenmont, in the bedroom of Thomas Edison's daughter, Madeleine. The artist began his career as a political cartoonist for Life magazine. In later years, Ebert kept a studio on Monhegan Island, just off the coast of Maine, with his wife, artist Mary Roberts Ebert. Thomas Edison's daughter-in-law, Anne Edison, also had a studio on the island, where she painted watercolors.
