John Paul Chase
1950 – 1955
Chase, an inmate at Alcatraz, completed a series of ten paintings on artboard panels depicting a 180-degree panoramic view of San Francisco Bay from Telegraph Hill to Tiburon. In this panel, Chase shows a Navy ship anchored in the Bay and the Fort Mason Piers at the Port of Embarkation in patriotic bunting.
