Fender Guitars
Before 2011
This is one of four special edition Fender Telecaster guitars created to celebrate the park’s 75th anniversary. The Telecaster was the first mass-produced electric guitar. Its bright, rich tone and versatility has made it a popular choice for country, blues, funk, jazz, and rock and roll artists.
Music has long played a role in the Joshua Tree soundscape. Artists cite a metaphysical attraction to the desert’s open horizons, quiet spaces, and clear light quality. Well known musicians such as Gram Parsons, Keith Richards, John Lennon, The Eagles, Jim Morrison, Foo Fighters, and U2 have credited the Joshua Tree area for providing creative space.
