Late Neoclassical (Empire) style, 1810-1830
Baltimore
Breakfast tables in the early 19th century greatly increased in size from the type popular a few decades earlier. They were also used as serving tables at the side of the room when a large dinner party was held. This example was made in Baltimore around 1820 and is typical of local design preferences.
