| Wheelchair c 1940 FDR designed a simple wheelchair consisting of an armless chair seat, back, narrow undercarriage, and wheels. The chair design was far less unwieldy than standard wheelchairs of the day and could be negotiated more easily through narrow halls and doorways. Iron, wood.
