Plate (one from set of twelve) This set of plates commemorates early American naval battles. It was commissioned by the American Legion Auxiliary from prints in the Americana collection assembled by Mabel Brady Garvan. It was probably a gift to FDR, who had a life-long interest in naval affairs. Eleanor may have used them at Val-Kill. Ceramic. D 27.9 cm. Eleanor Roosevelt National Historical Site, ELRO 2581 |
