The Johnsons' Suite

Albert and Bessie’s bedroom suite includes a bedroom, sitting room, bathroom, and a large, walk-in closet. 

The bedroom contains a bed that was specially designed to accommodate Albert’s 6’ 5” height.  The walk-in closet and the bathroom are both accessed from this room.  The tiled bathroom is one of the most beautiful in the house.  Many of the Johnsons' toiletries can be seen. The sitting room daybed has a wall fold-down writing surface.

The clothes and shoes that Albert and Bessie wore at Scotty’s Castle fill  the closet  The sitting room shelves hold baskets, most  of which were made by local Timbisha Shoshone women.  The carpet was hand-loomed in Majorca, Spain.  The pattern depicts grapevines, appropriate because Scotty’s Castle is situated in Grapevine Canyon.
